Gordon Gartrelle

Besides Frankie & Annette, Samantha & Jake, and Sweet & Low -- my favorite couple has to be salty & sweet! And arguably, this combination is best delivered by Washington favorite, Teaism. Their famous salty oat biscuits are a truly unique treatsy! These dense cookie-like gems have just the right balance of salty to sweetsies and crispy to softies. With their oatmeal, raisins, cinnamon and sea salt these ‘cuits seem like they would be all sorts of healthy. Unforch, they are totes large and, like most delish carb bricks, packed with the calsies!

So, I decided to recreate these in my home kitchen, replacing the recipe staples of milk and oil with things like pumpkin, fat free vanilla creamer, hopes & prayers. What resulted was a sad substitute for the original. My designer imposter kaboom, if you will. Better luck next time, I suppose … So, to all you cooks out there, keep doing what you do. But ask yourself this, are you ready for a Throwdown?
